[sdiy] multi legged electro caps?

I restore vintage radios and so deal with this all the time. I have
never bought the restoration multi-can capacitors as they are really
expensive. Also, you're just going to end up replacing them again in
15+ years.

Personally, unless it's real collectable, I don't worry about
under-the-chassis adds. I usually will take a 2 lug terminal strip
and solder one lug to the capacitor lug. Then I'll move the wires
from the capacitor to the other lug and solder a replacement (and
always much smaller) capacitor under the chassis. I'll do this for
each section. I just finished restoring a 1959 Philco Predicta TV
and I found a good range of higher voltage electrolytics to do the
job at Mouser and Digikey.

I also have boxes of NOS multi-section electrolytics and just can't
see using them. Some of my restorations are now 30 years old.
