[sdiy] PCB Layout Software ( the never-ending thread! )

I just spent the last few hours trolling my archives of this list for
every last mention of PCB Software, and then have gone out and found what I
can.

This is where I've put the list sofar:
http://www.emusic-diy.org/PcbCad

This is another "If you're bored" requests but... there are a bunch of URLs
at the bottom of that page that I didnt dig into very far. Quite a few of
them claim to be "The FIRST EDA on Personal Computers Only used In-House
for BILLIONS of YEARS" and worse.

If you see something down in the dregs like that that is worth looking at
more closely, please drop me an email OFF LIST! If I missed something,
please drop me an email OFF LIST. Instead of resurrecting this thread I'd
like to coagulate the info offlist and onto this webpage so the next time we
can just go "Hey, look here --->".

Yes, I will expound on the various packages as I look at them more closely.
For now its just OS and Price though.

Why am I doing this? Well, I'm about to drop money on a good PCB package.
I'm leaning towards Proteus or McCAD right now but I'm keeping an open mind
at this stage. My target max-price is around $5k US. Yes, I've gotten
*SERIOUSLY* bent at AutotraxEDA again ( it really did get much better, and
then it tanked again. No Laughter allowed from people with the initials J.L
cause yes, I knew better then to trust it... ).

Thanks!
