[sdiy] multi or single turn trimmers?

I don't know how many times I've read Pease's Troubleshooting book, but
that's the only thing in it I ever disagreed with. ;-D

In fact, I'm such a fan that I even got his book on avoiding traffic
accidents, and I don't even drive! (sad but true)

Now I will go so far as to say that there aren't a lot of places where you
really need a multiturn - often they are just an excuse for not getting the
tolerances tight enough in the first place - but, I have used quite a few
thousand Bournes vertical multiturn trimpots, and I'm happy.

stable and balanced. Does anyone know of an example in which the
multi-turn pot is better ? A full year after this statement was
originally published, nobody has tried to contradict me,
although people who sell multi-turn pots still brag in the
vaguest possible terms about "infinite resolution"--bleah !
