It might need some thorough cleaning to get the spring contacts working 
again, but otherwise they're quite robust.

I happen to have a bunch of keyboard scanners for the old Ensoniq 
keyboards, so all one needs would be a PIC or whatever to convert the 
key+velocity code into a CV.
