I hope the Kudelski owners club don't catch you! It's scarily like the UK
guy I know who made a 'Chopper' out of a Vincent HRD, (though in his case it
was a clone, designed to wind up the purists).

As a poor student in the 70's I rebuilt a Nagra 3 that had been dropped down
a cliff. F W O Bauch, the then UK agents were very sympathetic to my
studently state, and sold me parts at a trade price. Later, when funds were
even tighter, I sold it, and actually made some money. I alway regret
selling it though, (along iwth a valve Revox of similar vintage), it was one
of the finest pieces of tape recorder engineering I've ever seen.

Somewhere I've got a mono recording I did with it, of a friend practising
the organ in a local church, taken with an old BBC/STC 'Beer Bottle' mic.
For years I thought it was the best recording I ever made. I guess I fluked
the mic position just right, but the Nagra kept all the detail.
