If i were doing something like this, i'd probably look at the following
-modulate tape playback speed
-add a small banana patch panel to the top of one of the boombox's
speakers giving access to the read and write head amps... this way you
could do a type of feedback on the tape.
- put a microphone in the cavity of the boombox behind the speaker,
low pass filter it (at the patch panel) then invert the signal and be
able to patch it in if you want to get all noisy.
i'd probably just do these as little 2 or 3 way banana jack inputs, like
low pass, 1 input, 1 knob, 1 output.
invert 1 input, 1 output
tape write_head 1 input
tape read head 1 output
mixer 3 input 1 output
invert 1 input 1 output
microphone 1 output
i'd color code the inputs and outputs
i've done something a bit more involved to my nagra and it's great.
