Subject: Noisy Power-One Power Supply
Hello,
I was on this list a couple of years ago w/ a different email account. I finally got around to building a nice cabinet for my synth, and put a new power supply in it. I had been using a power-one 15-.8, and the new one is a 15-3.
With the new supply, I get a loud hum in everything. The filters pick it up, and I can filter the hum. It sounds like a nice sine wave. I thought it was bleed-through from one of my OSC's, so I disconnected everything except for one filter, and I still pick up the sound.
The supply is wired properly, w/ both positives connected, both negatives connected, and all three neutrals connected. I plugged in the small 15-.8 and the noise was gone.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I could check for on the supply or anything?
thanks
(sorry if you get this a few times, Im having trouble getting messages to post to the list. I just changed the registered email account, so will see if this helps)
