I've played with the 3372, it's not "necessary" to use a micro to
control it. I believe the same is true for the 3391.

That's not what I'm looking for. I have several paia 9700 modules so
I'm aware of the LM13700. I specifically want to use a very dense chip
that has VCF/VCA in the same package.

More generally, I was curious as to the availability of the higher
number chips. I know that the more popular early chips have been hard
to find for quite some time.
