I wonder if the ROM versions will allow themselfs to have their ROM content
read out of them. Don't recall which are ROM and EPROM, but as I recall it
8048 is the ROM version and 8748 is the EPROM version.

The alternative is naturally to write a new FW and EPROM that into a 8748.
"How hard could it be?" :-D
