[sdiy] CEM/SSM chip availability?

Hi Bob,

I don't want to take them out of someone else's scrap bin. I was
hoping that perhaps some of the chips that were still used after
analog VCOs in polysynths was dead as a concept, might still be
available at reasonable prices.

So let me be clear, I do not have a repair project for which I need
them. I'm just trying to ascertain if the state of availability of all
of the CEM/SSM chips is roughly equivalent or if some are more
available than others. I suspect that the latter chips are more
available if one knows where to look for them.

As far as the korg chip goes I was hoping that perhaps it might still
be available from korg directly, but given the offers I received in my
email, I suppose not.

I'm looking for a bunch of filter+vca on a chip for a project and so
I'm not looking to spend a bunch of cash on them or deplete the repair
reserves. If they are going for large amounts of money like original
CEMs then I'll either use the 3391 which is $15 from synth tech, or
I'll find a dusty DW-8000/DW-6000 and sacrifice it to the DIY gods.

Ideally I'd like to find 3372s (if I can't find the korg chips), but
they seem to be somewhat rare also.

If anyone knows of a source that has any of the newer CEMs in
reasonable quantity at a reasonable price, then by all means, let me
know.

Thanks,
Daryl
