12-step phaser anyone?
The 48-dB cross-overs i used to work with have 6 poles high-pass and 6 poles
low-pass and then has a bunch of additional poles in the all-pass filter which
delays the signal of the MID adds even more poles (don't recall how many and
too lazy to pull the schematics from the file-cabinett).
They are there, but you don't see them as often. 48 dB/Oct is very steep and
does not always match our psycoacoustical taste at all times.
