There was such a drive for the Roland Samplers that replaced the floppy drive
with
a harddrive and controller - so you could select from (I think) 100 "disks" on
the
drive (number shown with LED display on the drive front and it simulated this
disk...
But it was expensive due to the very limited parts produced.
Sorry I don't remember the name of this product...
