[sdiy] Filter Frequency response measurement ?

Lin or exp - my choice would be exp for audio applications, you could
then scale the sweep such that each vertical division on the scope
represents an octave (or two).
Lin might be more appropriate if you want to do a v/Hz study, it
depends on how you want to present the results.

Surely, an oscillator is an oscillator is an oscillator! who cares how
it is formed - a phase-shifted feedback path on anything with gain -
I used to have a power supply that gave a brilliant supersonic sine out.
All you want is a decent sine and voltage control - resonant VCF sounds
great.

# So my next question is VCO choice. The ramp is easy a 555 will do the
# trick. I know this is blasphemy, but, I was thinking about using a
# filter chip as a vc sin osc which will give an exponential readout in
# the X domain.
#
# Would I prefer a linear readout in frequency? If so, what's a good
# choice for the vco?
