[sdiy] TC resistor value changes?

Hi All,
I'm building Thomas Henry's XR-VCO and I'm looking at the expo
converter schematic here:
http://mypeoplepc.com/members/scottnoanh/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/schem1.pdf
It calls for a 2k TC resistor. I have only 1k TC resistors. I want to
make sure I understand what's going on here. If I just put in a 1k
resistor I'm halving the gain of the opamp. I could compensate for
this by changing the input resistors from 100k to 50k, yes? Or, I
could put the 1k TC resistor in series with a 1k normal resistor but
this then halves the TC value?
Is there any other way to make the substitution, or anything important
that I'm missing?
I realize that the simple answer is just to order some 2k resistor and
I might just do that.
Thanks,
Daryl
