Scott,
You might want to take a look at these folks:
http://www.onlinemetals.com/
They do small quantities and custom-cut. I just did a quick look-see
and I can get a 1.75" x 8.75" piece (MOTM single wide?) of .065" 6061-T6
Aluminum for US $1.38 each. Shipping extra. An 1/8th-inch (.125") piece of
the same dimensions is US $2.60.
I do not work for them nor have I ever ordered form them but in a few months
I am going to need several panels. They are local for me, Seattle, WA USA
and do allow will-call pick up.
If you visit their web-site choose Aluminum sheet/plate, then choose the
alloy that you want and then the thickness. Near the bottom of the next
page is a "custom cut" section. All that's left to do is enter the
dimensions and quantity. The cost/ea goes down as the quantity goes up.
Their stated tolerance is + .125" / - 0". I doubt that you'll be able to
beat that tolerance with a saw.
Hope this helps.
James
