I've used a jig saw before. I can get reasonably straigt edges by hand
with that (took a bit of practice), but you can also try with a piece
of wood on top which the foot of the jig saw can slide against. That
should give you perfectly straight cuts. Note though that I haven't
cut anything above 1mm aluminium with it.
