Nope, there are no hole in the "plastic" bucket.

You are not passivated in that sense, what you are doing is "roughen"
up the surface of the aluminium (it also cleans the surface) so the
toner has something to grip on when transfered from the paper.
The Naho corrodes the alu surface, after transfer of toner you then "close"
the surface by the varnish, enamel, lacquer.

Yes! A very expensive HP color laserjet! :-(
It didn't turn out well, it seams that the toner are to thin on the paper!
However that sublimation process mentioned earlier looks like a very good
solution for color.

You didn't say where you lived?
NaOH is found easily at any boutice that sells paint or plumbing
and or sink cleansing chemicals. The regular food store often carries it.

Its only used for etching up the surface of the panel, as soon it becomes
non glossy (not grayish) your done so % dosent matter that much.
>2. Exactly which brand and part number of glossy paper do you use?
Best papers i have found out are those in simple catalogs, thin and glossy,
or fancy magazines like Playboy, etc, Linear tech's catalog works well too.
>3. Which laser printer works for you?
Many printers works, i have been using Brothers, HPs etc, the older ones
works the best, like Laserjet 4,5,6. Panasonics 660, Brother 2030 also work.

Unfortunately no, but imagine that your looking at a doepfer module
black on aluminum. However, you can polish the panel to chrome status,
it looks quite neat!

Your laminator has to be able to get hotter then the regular plastic
film temperature (100deg C) used for the laminator you need something
like 140 to 180degC. some folks are successful with just a iron!
Laminator gives more even temperatures at the spot of the toner.
Its very easy to modify the laminator to have variable temperature or
you can buy one that has it inbuilt already.
