I had hoped to get the PCB from Ken for the master divider, but he is out of them ☹.  I just looked at the schematics again, and I know it’s simple, but it still scares me to try building it w/out the PCB!  Im sure it would be good for me to give it a shot, though.

Last night I was working with the schematic from Blacet’s MIDI/Clock IC datasheet.  I skipped the MIDI part, and just tried building the little circuit around the 4520 and 4081.  I wasn’t exactly sure what to do with the “RST” which on his schematics go back to the MIDI IC.  I tried connecting it to ground, and to positive, and it made no difference.
There is NOTHING to the circuit, so Im not sure why it didn’t work.  I don’t remember where I got the IC’s but if I got them from the local electronics store, that could be the problem, because ½ of anything I buy there is faulty.

Subject: Re: [sdiy] clock Divider

http://www.musicfromouterspace.com has a couple schems about bringing up gate signals from 5 to 10.

I'm a big fan of CGS and he has a divider schematic that works pretty snazzy like http://www.cgs.synth.net/modules/cgs22_master_divider.html

Though I've noticed that the 4024 are slighty off after the /6 division so if it's critical you could cascade some flip flops.

Which divider schem were you working on last night?
