Nope - "direct transfer" thru cheaper mediums than p'n'p,
transparencies or glossy paper. More problematic, but at least for
copper clads, worth it

Yes, it will definitely it should be coated. For PCBs, as I've found,
it's pretty had to scratch off transfer with finger nail (or even wire
wool/ wet sand paper) If It's succeed.
