I have never seen the data sheets but I have two 739's here and they are
clearly NOT the same IC as the 4739. They work fine in their original
circuit but NOT in a circuit that uses the 4739 (which in turn works fine
with an actual 4739).

PAiA has been substituting the 5532 for the 4739 for years now. They sell a
special daughterboard that remaps the pins. The 5532 is superior but with
increased current consumption.
