Jean-pierre - there are a number of potental problems with the CA3130
according to the datasheets. It will burn out if you try to run it on the
normal +/- 15V supplies.  There are schematics for VCOs where it is used
(one is in Hal Chamberlin's book), then it has two Zeners diodes attached to
reduce the supply voltage to +/-7.5V at the pins. The datasheets also
mention a long-term drift problem which was associated with the old
metal-gate BiMOS chips - the offset voltage will gradually change (a few mV,
+/-)  if a steady bias is applied to the inputs for an extended time -
perhaps in a comparator application - the datasheet mentions this is
reversible... not the best chip for precise DC applications.
