[sdiy] poor ground contact on 1/4" phone jack

Hi all,

anyone experienced this?
Here's that cheap 1/4" phone jack, mounted into a plastic case ages  
ago. (For a picture of this jack type, you can for instance go to  
www.reichelt.de and enter ebm 63 into the search field.) There's no  
electrical contact between the ground solder lug and the sleeve, I  
mean that part of the jack that touches the sleeve of the plug. So I  
unscrewed the nut measured again - voila, good contact. Mounted the  
jack again, still good contact. Tightened the nut really hard, and  
the contact had gone again. I could repeat this several times and  
always got the same result.
Huh? It seems by tightening the nut the parts of the jack are pulled  
apart.
