Ok - thanks for the tip, I'll switch them to 1k.

One last question concerning spekaers and amplifier circuits.  Is the
impedance of a typical speaker 8 ohms over the full audible range of
frequencies?  Seems like the speaker windings in a large magnetic field
would have a substantial inductance.  Can I treat an amplifier circuit like
a simple current source?  Meaning if I terminate into 1kohm, I expect
voltages 100 times what I'd get from terminating into 10 ohms?
