[sdiy] Problems with the Tiny Synth MCU

Hi list,
I'm having problems getting the 89C2051 in the Tiny Synth to start.
Maybe someone here has a briljant suggestion...
I'm programming the 89C2051 with a bog standard Willem programmer
with MCS-51 extension. Erasing, programming and verifying all goes
without problems. I have three of these controllers and I've
tried all three with "blink a LED" software and they all appear to
be fine. This should also have confirmed that the programmer
writes the programs correctly.
In the Tiny Synth, I see the 24 MHz clock on the scope, I see the
reset pulse from the R/C combination, but the MCU doesn't seem
to start. The LEDs don't light (yes, they are the right way round)
and it doesn't output anything.
At first I thought I somehow did something wrong with the programmer.
I'm quite familiar with PICs, but these 89C's are slightly alien to
me. But the fact that "blink a LED" works fine should rule that out.
Any suggestions?
Louis
