I'm about to indulge myself in a new multimeter, mostly for use with my
synth-building and microprocessor-futzing activities. Of primary interest to
me is DC measurement accuracy. I'm interested in any opinions that anyone
cares to offer.
The two I'm currently most interested in are the Fluke 87V and the B+K
Precision 2890A. They both have a street price of around $300. The B+K seems
to spec out a little better and has more features (e.g. an optional USB
interface). On the other hand, many years ago when I worked with people who
were Serious About Test Equipment, Fluke was the brand of choice.
Any other brands I should be considering? I'd rather not go much higher in
price. On the other hand, any candidates have to have "basic DC accuracy"
better than 0.5%. Thanks in advance for any opinions offered.
