That, or try mpeg4 (aka aac+), its got the better algorithms (Temporal 
noise shaping, spectral band replication etc.) which result in less 
pre-echos and better masking.

Its not about the model, but how good the encoder is able to fit the 
coding artefacts to be inaudible, i.e. keep them under the masking 
threshold. Here even different coders for the same stream format can 
differ significantly.
