This is true - but I can see a musical case for having completely
independent oscillators.

I like that 'simple' one-transistor oscillator, but a 555 with strong
low-pass filtering would be an easy one too. The filter doesn't need to be
precise, hence cheap. With the 555, you can adjust the freq with only one
resistor.

What I would REALLY like to see, though, is an Optigan adapted..
