[sdiy] Yamaha Volume Pedal Part 2.

I took this pedal apart tonight to find that something must have been
spilled on it. The circuit board, top and bottom are glossy and very
sticky... looks like someone spilled a drink or a soda on it. I remember
many years ago, someone spilled a can of pepsi on a little fx unit I had
built using some PAIA modules. Back then, I ended up pretty much having to
pull all of the components off and basically rebuild a few of the modules.

Before I took this apart tonight I cleaned the jacks and popped in a new
battery. It seemed to work ok, but then I was noticing the popping, dropping
in and out. Then I saw the output jacks were slightly loose. Solder
connections look passible... But after I got it apart and saw the drink
damage, I started to get that mild odor of burnt components. A few of the
other solder connections on the board, at the CV/Volume switch look very
corroded.

My plan is to first clean the board and then re-solder some of the
connections, replacing the output jacks. Can you guys suggest a product that
will cut thru all of the gunk on the board without causing anymore damage?
Is it worth it to repair or am I just P*##ING out someones drink? LOL!

Anyway... I will take any suggestions you have.

CHEERS....
