In the Preventative Maintenance Department: shoot a little WD-40 on a
soft rag and wipe it over the jacks and other exposed metal. Maybe
even put a little WD-40 on a q-tip and run that inside the jacks.
WD-40 is a so-so lubricant, but it's GREAT at displacing water and
preventing rust. Your customer might also want to consider hunting
down some of those silica gel dessicant packages (the ones that say
"do not eat") and taping a few inside each machine. Oh, and cover the
gear when not in use to limit condensation.
Tim (also a so-so lubricant, and not to be eaten) Servo
