Of course you're free to do whatever you like, with your ICs.
But as they are extremely rare, and crucial Prophet 5 replacement chips, 
have you considered this:

You could sell them and make a small fortune from the deal, buy a lot of 
other interesting ICs with a fraction of the money, and
have diy fun with them?
