John,

Still get in and see a specialist. And doing some research on your own
doesn't hurt to make sure the doctors haven't missed something.

Coming from the days of before it was required (or even thought of) wearing
ear protection I have some tinnitus. Did a lot of work on farms and in
canneries. Sort of funny though, I pretty much have always had something at
concerts whether I need it or not. Just never thought about work.

Best wishes.
Jay S.

Subject: [sdiy] Hearing, Listen!

A strange thing happened last night. The most important part of my analog
system failed. I lost all hearing in my left ear. I can now only hear low
level pink noise in my left ear and that is all. The emergency room doctor
found no physical damage. He referred me to a specialist.

When I was young, I went to my share of loud concerts; i.e., Jimi Hendrix in
Nürnberg. That may be a contributor to the failing ear.

Advice: Take care of your ears, both of them, they are the most important
part of your analog sound system.

Take care,
John
