I haven't fully followed the discussion, but I think there is a way to read
a digest, sort of:
You can read the archives (they seem to be updated as quickly as you'd
expect a digest to come, and allow the display of the last day, last two
days, last week, you name it. Customised digest, I'd call it.)
If we can subscribe in "digest mode", only without getting a digest, we
should be able to reply to the list, from what we've copied and pasted from
the archives. Not really more compicated than a real digest.

For what it might be worth, I think I can copy and paste a subject from a
digest.
Yeah, I will occasionally be a doofus and forget to do that, but ok, crucify
me,
nobody is perfect. I'm in a position where I really can't tolerate the
traffic
anymore - I have two choices, hit delete 50 times a day or just unsub.

Why? because we can't have a digest? ???? REALLY? C'mon people. Please
please
please let's have a digest available for those of us that are interested and
want
mostly to read and respond to a few. P-L-E-A-S-E ????
