Although in this case many (but not all) email servers will ensure that 
each recipient only receives the email once.

Actually with Mailman this shouldn't be a problem for anyone as there is 
a user level option "Avoid duplicate copies of messages?" which is set 
to Yes by default.  This will avoid sending out the email via the list 
to anyone who is To'ed or Cc'ed.

Here's hoping Rick reads all these emails soon .... :)
