FWIW, I vote for replies going to the list.
(I know there are hundreds of reasons to have it going to the
individual instead, especially technical ones, but I prefer to hit a
reply button and have my reply directed to where the email came from
- the list.
If I want to email a person, I email a person. It's not often done,
and it's not that tricky.
If the replies go to the list, I always know that I don't send it to
just one person by mistake. I don't have to check my sent email or the
list emails to make sure that I'm heard. If someone makes a mistake
and sends a personal email to the list, it's better than having
important list emails mistakenly going to just one person. People tend
to learn from these mistakes, too. And if I want to send something
secret to one person, I always double-check the address I send it to,
regardless of the reply behaviour.
List replies going to the list are just natural. As simple as that.)
