I have found nice switching lightweight supplys that are good for audio
use from Schroff and Delta. they are ususally about 2,5A per rail so you
might need two. Usually they are trimmable between +/-15 & 12v.
They are expensive if you need to buy them, I have found mine in old
telecom/broadcast equipment.

the serge retrofit is getting to the stage where i need to consider
power supplies. i'm traveling a lot, so i'm wondering how viable
it would be to build a reasonably lightweight filtering circuit so that
i
could use standard crappy pc atx power supplies? Anybody attempted
this?
On this note, i can't find a single atx supply with more than 0.8amp
on
the -12v rail... anybody know of a balanced atx supply?
Anyway,
at the moment i'm using a power-one hdcc and it's great, however it
weighs almost 30 pounds. And the fact that i need a second supply for
another bit of kit brings us to almost 40 pounds of electricity.
I could purchase 3 of these and leave them on three different
landmasses
but even lugging them around is a hassle and there's the chance i'll be
in
other cities and again confronted with finding a power supply.
I need at least 3.4amp's on the +/-12v rails.. Since there is some
jcd
involved, it'd be ideal to have a small .5amp tap at +/- 15v with 3.2a
or
so on +/-12v and whatever on 5.
