Actually, I've seen really poorly constructed front panels affect operation
too. Holes drilled so large that pots actually shorted out against the
front panel. Thin panels that flexed so much that parts shorted out against
each other. Etc. Too be fair, someone that sloppy probably didnt pay any
attention to what flux they used... I've also had to fix RF circuits where
rosin flux wasnt cleaned off and it became mildly conductive ( humidity! )
and where organic flux wasnt removed properly and it ate the traces off a
fine pitch board ( and in one case ate up a bunch of vias on a 6 layer board,
that sucked to fix... ). No-Clean flux just kinda sits there and does
nothing except look bad. Not rated for aerospace tho as it can flake off
and become a particulate pollutant or whatever they called it.

Whatever works for whoever tho. Some people will use organic flux, some of
us will use no-clean, and there are a few who'll use ol'44. No-ones really
wrong unless they're painting on acid flux with a brush and wielding a
100watt iron... and even thats okay if its Harry and he's soldering down a
BBD.
