As for veneers, there are self-adhesive ones. Talk about easy to use! 
I stuck a piece of cherry veneer (which I bought at Constantine's) on 
the back of my old cell phone, both as a test and also to distinguish 
it from my wife's identical phone. It was usually in my pocket for 
hours every day, and there was no hint of it coming unglued even 
though I used it for almost 2 years. (Just got a new FCP, though, so 
the test has concluded.)
