Hej Karl,

I recommend you to go IKEA and buy oak shelfs or massive wood cutting
boards, they are made of nice wood and is fairly cheap.
Or just go to some big home-improvementstore like Silvan, Fridells och
OBS byggvaruhus and buy, they have lots of different woodtypes like oak,
pine, teak and walnut and will usually saw to your required size for a
small fee.

Today i really went into the big wall!

Some time ago i decided to do some wodden cabinets,
i tought that in the land of russian taiga wood is an easy
access, particularly pine and birch wich is used for making
furnitures outtrough scandinavia.

But hell no, finding a decent piece of plain oak, alder,
cherry, or even plain silly birch or pine is absolutely non
existent!

Amasing!
Flabergasting, the only thing thats available is spruce!!!!

Spruce is available in all kind of formats but thats completely
usless to make any furniture from and particularely to make
diy cabinets from, even if one finishing it several times and
waxing it will look cheap and uggly.

It turns out after a couple of phonecalls to warious wood
vendors that the majority of the more noble woods'es is
imported !!! Most oak'ses for instance is US import!!

What the hell!
In the land of woods we import wood!!!!!

Its easier for me to go and fetch the chain saw, walk 10
meters and logg down some very nice birch and alder's
just outside my door here then to struggle trough the
wendor chain just to find out if these are available at all!

Pain!
