For a one-off, most of the expense is in the programming & machine setup,
whihc is the same for laser or milling.
Plus, the laser is usally (in my experience anyway) pretty rough compared to
milling.
True, low energy laser for specially treated surfaces & foils is print
quality,
but for the heavy stuff....... no.
