Because all these nifty features are only accessible if you have a Yahoo 
account. Some people already dislike this.

Personally, I'm so fed up with Yahoo cause once you actually forget your 
handle/password there's hardly any way in getting that data -- 
especially when you chose not to enter your real data (I, for one, 
like to alter my data at registration processes just to see who they 
sell it to...). And re-registering with your mail address won't work, 
cause "that address is already in use".

And accounts don't seem to expire, too.
