Sorry for jumping in on this thread so late, but be sure to check out

I used their Spartan-3 board a few semesters back to create a
guitar-effects pedal. Most fun I've ever had in a project-based class
here at Purdue. I've been meaning to flesh out the documentation and
post it online, but I've learned so much about signal processing in
the months since that the original project seems amateurish. If
anyone is interested in code they can simply load up on their board
and try, let me know. I used an Analog Devices API ADC and Maxim SPI
DAC, parts I had laying around the lab, aka, samples.
