I'm planning on bringing this Pro-One in its custom wood case to the
PNW Synth
DIY'ers meeting this weekend. I'll probably bring some toys along
with it like a
Doepfer R2M ribbon controller as well. The first thing I noticed
once I got it
all together and starting playing with it is that it felt much more
sturdy and more
like a Prophet-5. That only makes sense because the black walnut wood
is more rigid
compared to the stock plastic case which is a bit flexible. So far
two Pro-Ones have
been converted with a third down in San Francisco in progress. On
the wheel box I'm
looking for a shop to make the box itself. I've found a shop that
can laser cut the
plexiglas wheels. Personally, I prefer the skinny tinted stock
wheels, but based on
the colors available its quite possible that we could do clear
backlit wheels which
seems to be the fad right now. I dislike blue LEDs though.. is it
just me, or do
other people get blinded by them as well? I find red to be far more
pleasing and
easier on the eyes.

I've got the nameplates sourced. I'm wondering if I should make a
pRophet~1 name
plate for it? ;-)

Here are the pictures of the latest black walnut Pro-One:
