Jason and Sam, that CGS circuit is primarily designed to simply turn  
an LED on or off, usually to indicate status of a Gate signal, but  
not necessarily optimized for gradual dimming and brightening of an  
LED.  I'm not saying that it won't work for LED dimming, but the  
resistor values (the two 100K's) may need to be messed with to get  
the correct response.  It may even need a little bit of DC bias at  
the Base (and a blocking diode to keep the DC from going back into  
the ADSR output) to get it to start turning on at the lowest ADSR  
voltages.  Maybe not -- it's certainly worth trying out.
