[sdiy] Aftertouch strip

I have a keyboard that doesn't have aftertouch. I'd like to mod it
into a keyboard that does.

I'm considering an optical solution, but the keybed deflection is
only around 1mm, so the available brightness variation that could be
turned into a signal is quite small.

So I'm also considering plan B, which is pressure sensitive strip, as
used in Real Professional Keyboards[tm].

Does anyone have a source for this? I've tried all the usual
suspects. It's easy enough to find strain gauges and other standard
items, but no one seems to sell the strip that I can find if I (e.g.)
open up my Novation Remote 25 and look inside.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Richard
