Oh yes a MIDI-to-CV converter is in the works. I was referring mostly to how
you can input a sequence almost instantaneously and be messing with it with
the Synthi's sequencer. But I've found that as I get more deft at whizzing
through the QY's menus this should be something of a non-issue. I just wish
I had the MIDI-to-CV already done! (It's a lot of parts.)
One synth I am working on is something like the Moog Taurus, simple
square/saw VCO (the 4069UB VCO) and the Taurus VCF/VCA/EG (JH's Minotaurus).
I have a small wooden box that I think this will fit in along with a copy of
the Oberheim Minisequencer (although I haven't built this yet either...)
Having a MIDI-to-CV would let me just use the synth, but I like the idea of
having many sequencers. I have my gate-sequencer/lowpass gate combo which I
will use for both a wild stuttering tremolo and triggers for my little drum
synths (Coron DS8 clones and such...) - at the same time even. This is the
project that I am currently wrapping up although I decided to make a 2nd DS8
to really get wild with it. Soon I will also make an XR2206-based "disco
drum" - <<piou! piou!>>
