I havent been as active lately as normal as I've been trying not to have a
nervous breakdown. Really. Ativan seems to help take the edge off, but
what I think I need are more solder fumes...
Center tapped pots : Still on the way. I expect them a little before Xmas.
Fiberglass : I was looking for that fiberglass to act as insulation inside a
Dry Mount Press I purchased. I have finally finished playing with it and
its operational. A couple quick tests with some scrap PCBoard and transfer
paper and wow you can repeatably apply the resist with this thing. Probably
overboard but I'm all about overboard. I'm going to do some more playing
but it now looks like I can make a circuit board in about 20 minutes and 10
of that is waiting for the press to warm up. No, I'm not planning to start
etching all my own boards again, I've come to like Olimex too much for that,
but I would like to test board designs before waiting several weeks for them
to arrive from Romania...
Soldering Irons : A few weeks ago I finally bought a new soldering station
to replace my Weller/Ungar unit. a Weller WSD130 with WSP80 and WMP irons.
WSP80 tips are cheap and WMP tips are extremely SMD friendly so even tho I
said I disliked Weller, I bought one anyway. I will say these newer weller
irons are finally a reasonable size. Ain't the old TC201 thats for certain!
