Hello
The two synthi-AKS synthesisers that I have don't have the umbilical
connector that goes between the keyboard and the main body. I want to make
up the cables myself - whilst Robin Wood at EMS Ltd. does have them in
stock, they're quite expensive at £33 each (that's about US$63 per cable).
I have tried to identify the connectors - I think the connectors are Cinch
Jones series 300 - body pattern is 308 so the plug becomes P-308 and the
socket is S-308.
The connectors themselves are rectangular, about 32mm x 18mm and are 8 pins.
Four pins are vertical, the other four are horizontal; the following URL
shows the associated PDF
http://www.cinchuk.co.uk/products/pdf/Jones_PDF_Catalog1148360345.pdf - take
a look at
page 2-37ff for full info.
The bad news is that the 8 pin variety doesn't have an associated Cinch part
number, suggesting to me that they're no longer produced. However, I am
hoping to find some in stock at a distributor in Chicago, USA.
Questions therefore are:
1) If I find some in Chicago, can anyone help me buy them please, if the
company won't take credit card? I could ask you to buy them for me and post
them in return for a Paypal payment, for example.
2) Even better - does anyone know a stockist or alternative supplier or
manufacturer, or does anyone have 2 plus and 2 sockets they don't need?
I can buy them from EMS if all else fails but I would like to explore other
avenues first.Thanks!
