Howdy,

 Having worked with lots of plexi, lining a hockey
arena boards and 5/8" for player's bench/penalty box
separation from the crowd, also clips to hold the
glass wall tops together, i can say that plexiglass & 
lexan are VERY brittle. When drilling holes you are
best off using a forstner bit. Better yet, get
yourself some PETG. It came on the market about a year
ago. used to be expensive but prices have come down to
the same or less than lexan. It is much more robust
than the others although a little bit softer. it is
hard to break and will work MUCH better than plexi or
lexan. Just my $0.02
