Hi Sam!

Which type of Kester 331 do you have?

This may seem like a strange question, but my point is that you may have have
been soldering with two different spools of Kester 331 having quite different
properties. Now, looking in the Kester catalogue:

Start off with page 3, "Information Necessary to ordering Kester products":

1. Alloy type
2. Wire diameter
3. Spool size
4. Core flux type
5. Core flux size
6. Quantity required.

We can safely ignore spool size and quantity required for this exercise.
Wire diameter is fairly obvious. But the remaining three is of interest.
By specifying Kester 331 you actually only specify the Core flux type.
You should get the standard core flux size, but you may vary in alloy.

Page 7 gives you the overview and for alloys you should go to page 15.

So, what Kester 331 do you actually have?
