The old lady and me got together and recorded another song - Testimoney.
This one a bit mean- spirited since the subject matter is our so-called war
on terror.

Tried several new things this time. I really wanted a "live" sound and not
as programmed as my usual stuff. So to that end I played most of the synth
parts by hand, and used samples of real drummers. Not having a bass guitar,
I tricked my CZ-1 into thinking it was one, with the help of some overdrive.
Other sounds worth noting are the Kawai K3 doing the sequenced bass that
follows the bass guitar. In the chorus sections the lead synth is once again
the CZ-1, this time fooled into thinking it's a Prophet 600 and that lead is
backed up by a Crumar DS-2. Well samples of one, courtesy of a very good
customer for my synth repair skit.
Having recently been in the Military I heard many stories from pilots and
sailors who were deployed to Iraq. One such story was so appalling I
couldn't forget it and that tale became the inspiration behind Testimoney.
I'd also like to thank my DS-2 customer once again for allowing me to sample
the instrument. I believe he mentioned making the samples available to all
so anybody interested in them should give me a shout. They are in .wav
format with .akp programs for owners of Akai samplers. They are free of
charge as well.
